SocEnt Book Club: The New Relationship Marketing

The New Relationship Marketing

We are excited to announce the November installment of the SocEnt Book Club, The New Relationship Marketing: How to Build a Large, Loyal, Profitable Network Using the Social Web by Mari Smith. The New Relationship Marketing is a guide to creating and maintaining relationships using social media.

As Smith asserts in her book, business is more social now than at any time in history. That makes it especially important to hone your “soft skill set,” or the way you relate to other people. Social media, even in the business world, is clearly about more than the communication of information, and The New Relationship Marketing can give you the tools to go beyond simple communication and leverage the incredible business possibilities of creating strong networks with personal connections.

Smith’s book is about putting yourself out there on social media. With the increasingly fast, short, and sometimes impersonal nature of communication, it becomes easier to do business over the social web from behind a virtual veil, never allowing those you do business with to see you as a person. The New Relationship says that showing your personality through your tweets, posts, and emails is the best way to take full advantage of social media.

How, then, do you give people a good idea of who you are in 140 characters or less? The answer to this question and many more in the Social Enterprise Book Club’s November book, The New Relationship Marketing: How to Build a Large, Loyal, Profitable Network Using the Social Web by Mari Smith.

About the Author: Mari Smith is a social media expert and trainer. She has already co-authored a book called Facebook Marketing: An Hour a Day.
