Contributing to Teacher Effectiveness With The Desk
Effective teaching is rooted in effective planning and, unfortunately, many teachers feel alone in the world of planning. This reality presents an opportunity to innovate the lesson planning system. Four Teachers Project is taking advantage of this opportunity by proposing a web-based application known as The Desk to create a community of teachers with access to planning tools, idea sharing, peer editing, and much more. With The Desk, teachers no longer have to feel alone. They will have access to great ideas and tons of creativity. With this kind of support, teachers around the nation would be planning more effective lesson plans and consequently reaching more children than ever before.
It becomes more apparent every day that education in the United States is a constant struggle; we are falling behind our international counterparts, and it is imperative that change happens in the classroom. The Desk is a way to ensure that teachers are getting the guidance they need and deserve in lesson planning so that they can be more effective in the field. Although there are lesson-planning resources online, none of them compare to what The Desk is pushing to do. There is no resource proven to be effective and free to teachers. This is a great opportunity to offer teachers the kind of resources, support, and feedback that will be useful and catalyze widespread academic growth for students.
Four Teachers Project plans to raise at least $4,000 through StartSomeGood to get The Desk on its feet in Texas. The hope is that The Desk will be supported enough to gain national attention and become a resource for teachers in every state in the United States. Your contribution will make a difference in the world of education, the life of a teacher, and in the minds of students. Be the change that you want to see in education by contributing to a great cause.
