Lenny’s Café Brings Delicious Vegan Fare to Finsbury Park, London
Veganism provides a healthy and cruelty free way of life, but a vegan diet is often marginalized in restaurants and misconceived by the general public to consist of ‘weird’ and ‘boring’ food. Establishing Lenny’s Café, a vegan worker’s co-operative café based in North London, will aim to counter these stereotypes while providing delicious and affordable vegan creations for all.
Lenny’s Café is the vision of Carolyn, a vegan chef with 6 years experience making delicious vegan eats. Popular for her cakes, Carolyn has been working toward combining a vegan diet with a business model that is particularly beneficial to its workers, thus devoting the majority of her time and savings into its fruition. Located in Finsbury Park, an area highly concentrated with fast food outlets, Lenny’s Café will bring with it a healthy and delicious range of affordable vegan alternatives.
Alongside affordable meals, Carolyn intends to use her creativity to develop vegan alternatives to popular sweet treats and sell confections and preserves made with simple wholesome ingredients. In addition, with a co-operative model, which is special in the autonomy and freedom it provides its workers, Lenny’s Café has the potential to be a great success.
Let’s help Lenny’s Café happen! The $2,000 tipping goal will enable Carolyn to purchase assets such as a display fridge, a coffee machine, grinder, and ingredients for meals. In addition, the $6,000 total funding goal will be invaluable in purchasing a panini press, take-home packaging, and restaurant signage to feature this new establishment. Funds raised beyond her goal will go toward sustaining the longevity of the business in the form of rent beyond the first 3 months and other various expenditures necessary in sustaining a new business.
Let’s help Lenny’s Café bring healthy, delicious, and ethical food to North London by sharing this campaign and pledging to help make it a success!
