We’re looking for a few great interns to join our team to help us continue to empower changemakers and social change organizations to launch and grow the innovative ventures we need to create new futures for our communities and the world. Venture Support Intern

StartSomeGood was founded by social entrepreneurs for social entrepreneurs and we’re obsessed with providing an amazing customer service experience for the ventures using our site. We guide each of our ventures through the entire process of creating and then running a successful campaign on StartSomeGood. To accomplish this, each member of our venture support team works one-on-one with ventures to support the changemakers starting good on our platform.

Your Role:

-You’ll help make sure that the ventures that apply to StartSomeGood are a great match for the type of social impact organizations we seek to support;

-You’ll take ownership of ensuring that ventures using our site receive the customized guidance they need and you’ll ensure that they have a great experience — one that results in them successfully raising funds.

-The internship is unpaid, approximately 8 hours per week and is location independent.

-You have an entrepreneurial spirit, and a can-do attitude;

-You’ll do whatever it takes to make sure our awesome ventures have a great experience;

-You have great attention to detail as well as the ability to think creatively;

-You’re passionate about social change and making an impact in the world.

-You’re comfortable working in a virtual-team

Communications Design Intern

Our communications team encourages ventures to join our site and run campaigns through storytelling. We tell stories through many different platforms: our blog, our social media accounts, our newsletter, reaching out to media outlets, speaking at conferences and more. We’re great at telling stories through most forms, but we’re looking for help telling our story visually.

Your Role:

-You’ll join the communications team as our design intern, tasked with using your design skills to tell the story of StartSomeGood and the ventures using our site;

-You’ll have a great diversity of projects to work on, including, but certainly not limited to creating presentations, handouts, infographics, and other design-focused projects.

-The position is unpaid and virtual, approximately 8 hours per week.

Who You are:

-You’re a natural communicator, comfortable working in a virtual team;

-You’re proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, Powerpoint and other tools of the trade;

-You’re entrepreneurial, self-motivated, efficient with your time and comfortable meeting deadlines.

Technical Design and CSS Intern

Our tech team is responsible for the core of StartSomeGood: the site itself. We have an exciting roadmap of features on the way and need the right person to contribute to help make these great things happen.

Your Role:

-You’ll contribute to myriad front-end design and CSS projects, making sure that our site is as beautiful as our mission of empowering changemakers;

-The position is unpaid, location-independent, and approximately 10 hours per week, though you’ll be judged on the quality of your work, not the hours spent doing it.

Who You Are:

In order to succeed in this role, it’s crucial that you meet the following criteria:

-Comfort working with Adobe Photoshop;

-The ability to write well-structured and efficient HTML and CSS code;

-You have an understanding of modern website architecture;

-You have experience with interaction / website design

The ideal candidate will also possess the following traits:

-detail-oriented

-willingness to innovate and think outside the box

-great communication skills

-fanatical desire to create exceptional work

-understanding of JavaScript (jQuery)
