Building the social innovation ecosystem in Australia: Announcing an amazing set of new partners.

StartSomeGood Partners with The School for Social Entrepreneurs Australia, Young Social Pioneers, The Center for Sustainability Leadership, space3, RMIT SEEDS and Women as Entrepreneurs to support social innovators in Australia.

StartSomeGood was founded based on the realization that creating mass social change would take not one or two organizations but thousands of citizen-led initiatives building a better future for their communities. StartSomeGood is designed to support this movement but we know it takes more than us, no matter how successful, to inspire, nurture and amplify social innovations.

So our philosophy of change is very collaborative and partner-driven. We also know that social entrepreneurs need more than what we can give them – a tool for raising financial capital – in order to succeed. In addition to financial capital they need access to other forms of support including intellectual and social capital. So we specifically look for organisations providing these other forms of support to emerging social entrepreneurs.

And that’s the case with all the partners we’re announcing today. All of them help innovators make the often-terrifying leap from idea to action, which is the only pathway to impact. The School for Social Entrepreneurs and The Center for Sustainability Leadership do this through multi-month long leadership-development courses. The Young Social Pioneers program of the Foundation for Young Australians takes young social entrepreneurs who are already working on an idea and helps them grow their impact. RMIT SEEDS provides early-stage funding along with training and support to RMIT students founding social enterprises, space3 (“space cubed”) is the new coworking space for social innovators in Perth, Western Australia and Women as Entrepreneurs (WE) is supporting female entrepreneurs to make their dreams a reality.

The common thread? All of us exist to support and propel entrepreneurs! Thank you all for your partnership and friendship. It is an honour to be part of this movement with you.

Individual Network Partner landing pages will be launched as ventures related to that network populate the site. Network landing pages provide a single jumping-off point to explore the initiatives from that community raising funds on our site and highlight the great work all these organisations are doing to support innovation.
