Physicians for Haiti was founded in the wake of the 2010 earthquake, created with the goal of empowering Haitian physicians and uniting Haitian and American physicians to share knowledge, inspire one another, and develop the tools necessary to build a stronger, healthier Haiti. Last year, Physicians for Haiti held its first annual medical conference focusing on the current state of medical education in Haiti. On December 9th, it looks forward to hosting the second major conference in Haiti. Physicians for Haiti seeks funding to extend attendance from last year, doubling the number of medical professionals that can get involved. Funds will be used for renting venues, providing food, and transportation for those who otherwise would not be able to attend.
Preciva is an impact-driven organization seeking funds to complete the prototype of a revolutionary cervical cancer screening test. Components can be manufactured for less than two dollars per unit and can provide immediate results. Preciva seeks funding to fully assemble a working prototype for clinical testing, resulting in essential clinical data that will attract more funding from health-focused foundations.
