Physicians for Haiti (P4H) was founded in the wake of the 2010 earthquake and created with the goal of empowering Haitian physicians, uniting Haitian and American physicians to share knowledge, inspire one another, and develop the tools necessary to build a stronger, healthier Haiti. Last year, P4H held its first annual medical conference focusing on the current state of medical education in Haiti. This year, on December 9th, P4H looks forward to hosting its second major conference in Haiti. The organization raised $3,929 to expand the conference’s capacity, which will allow double the number of physicians from last year to participate. The funds will be used to rent venues, purchase food, and provide transportation for those who otherwise would not be able to attend.

I Share is an organization that promotes sharing and off-line networking. By displaying an “I Share” sign, neighbors will know who is interested in sharing—helping to save money and time, build a community, and keep our planet green. Piloting in Vancouver, BC, scheduled for this fall, the $1,155 raised will cover the cost of printing and distributing signs as well as conducting surveys to help refine the project for a broader launch in winter this year.
