Let’s Celebrate! Recently Tipped Campaigns…

The Cross Stitch Project takes advantage of digital media and web technology to help girls develop into confident young women and inspire them to change the world. Launched in the Topsia community in Kolkata, India, The Cross Stitch Project served 36 girls over the course of the 2012 school year. It is a partnership between Kolkata, Trinita Society for Health and Social Research, ASHA for Education in Atlanta, Georgia State University, and the Atlanta Girls School. The program follows a peer-to-peer communication type of curriculum with a goal to build confident self-presentation and improve English skills, leading to more job market potential. The Cross Stitch Project campaign to keep its Kolkata Media Training Program running just tipped, raising over $3,000 to develop its own space to work and expand the program in 2013 to reach more girls. The next milestone goal is the total funding goal of $11,500. With less than a week left, can we get this project fully funded?

Congo Leadership Initiative (CLI) has prepared 100 young leaders to empower their own communities in the Congo. Their goal is to prepare 100 more by June 2013. CLI develops young leaders to be catalysts for peace and prosperity in the Congo with the Leadership Institute. The depth and severity of problems in Congo places it in last place on the Human Development Index. The Leadership Institute is a comprehensive curriculum that empowers and educates talented Congolese to solve the problems of the Congo themselves instead of simply treating a symptom like most other programs in Congo. With a tipping point goal of $1,100 and a total goal of $4,250, funds for Inspire the Congo will be used for transportation, food, facility costs, and materials for the participants.
